Cherie Booth for Parliament?

Bill Clinton has apparently suggested that Cherie Booth, Tony Blair's wife, could run for Parliament when Tony steps down from Downing Street.

The man is plainly not very informed about British politics. She already has a job, and it pays a great deal more than being an MP. Granted, Tony's income will shoot up when he leaves the House, but that would seem no reason for the family's main breadwinner to take a pay cut of that magnitude. British politics just is not open to the same levels of corruption as American. There are no spare rooms in Number 10 to let out. In fact, the Blair's live in the larger flat above Number 11, because there is not enough room for the whole Blair family in the two-bedroom flat above Number 10.
