Your leader, the Challenge in Iraq, makes some excellent points about the differences between Iraq and Vietnam. As far as the political consequences for President Bush are concerned, there is another, even more potent factor.
Nearly all the US service personnel who fought and died in Vietnam were conscripts. Those in Iraq are all volunteers.
