To the New York Times

Steven Erlanger managed to produce a 1500 word article (08 January 2005) about the decline of Hamas and rise of the more moderate Fatah faction without once mentioning that the principal state sponsor of Hamas was Saddam's Iraq. The loss of funding and armament flows to Hamas which followed Saddam's overthrow have been substantial and it is 12 months since Sheikh Ahmad Yasin, spiritual leader of Hamas, described the capture of Saddam as "a loss" to his cause. If Hamas and Aljazeera can recognise this, should not the New York Times?
